Remove the check the drum and transport lock
To ensure that the new washing machine is not damaged during transport, it is delivered with a transport lock. This ensures that the drum of the washing machine does not detach during transport. Before putting the device into operation, you should first remove the transport lock, otherwise damage may occur afterwards.
Since manufacturers use different systems, you should read the manufacturer’s instructions on how to remove the transport lock. However, do not throw them away, but keep the transport lock after setting it up. You can use them again the next time you move. Then turn the drum by hand to make sure it runs smoothly.
Attach drain hose
A separately supplied drain hose is also included in the delivery. Connect this securely and firmly to the washing machine so that the water can drain away reliably and there is no water damage later. There are now two options for the drain: either there is a drain with a waste water connection near the washing machine or there is a sink into which you can hang the drain hose.

The third option is to attach the hose directly to the siphon of the sink. You can also look in stores to see if you can get an adapter for connecting to the drain. Now fasten the hose with a hose clamp, which is supplied by most manufacturers. Otherwise, you can also find this accessory in hardware stores.
Attach inlet hose
Fresh water enters the machine via the inlet hose. Therefore, you need to connect the inlet hose directly to a tap. Ensure the hose is not entangled or damaged. The aqua-stop system integrated in the inlet hose provides additional security, as it prevents excessive water supply. Use a sleeve to ensure that the inlet hose is securely attached to the water tap.
Ensure power connection
Last but not least, the machine is connected to the power supply, ideally via a separately secured safety socket. This will prevent a short circuit if the washing machine runs out. In order to prevent a life-threatening situation caused by an energized puddle of water, the power circuit of the machine itself should also be highly secured. Before connecting to the power supply, the program switch of the washing machine should always be set to “0” or “Off”.
Start test run
Once all the hoses for the inlet and outlet are connected and the washing machine is connected to the mains, you should now carry out a test run. To do this, switch on one of the short wash programs and let the machine run through once without laundry.
Does the drum spin? Or is the machine making strange noises? Check for water leaks from hoses or connectors during the test run. Even the smallest drop could be an indication of a leak that can lead to serious damage in the long term. The drain into the sink or directly through the siphon must also function properly.
Finally place the machine
If the test run went well, you can now move the washing machine against the wall. Make sure that hoses or cables are not crushed and are not taut. You should be able to unplug and plug in the power cord effortlessly and instantly at any time, and be able to turn the water supply faucet off and on again when needed.

If your washing machine is still not completely level (spirit level!), correct the individually rotating feet again. Another option is to place the washing machine on a special anti-vibration mat to reduce vibration and noise.
Tip: Check your washing machine and its connections on a regular basis. Check whether the hoses for the outlet and inlet are still tight and intact. If not, you can buy replacement hoses from retailers.
